Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. We teach the competency-based New Lower Secondary Curriculum introduced by the NCDC, which reorganized O-Level study into a smaller, more focused set of core and elective subjects (down from the much larger list under the older curriculum), with more emphasis on skills and continuous assessment alongside the UCE exam.

Each UCE subject is graded on a 9-point scale, broadly grouped as Distinction (grades 1-2), Credit (grades 3-6), Pass (grades 7-8), and Fail (grade 9). Under the NLSC, UCE results are reported by subject rather than as a single overall aggregate, and universities and employers look at grades in specific subjects relevant to further study.

All UCE candidates take a set of core subjects — including English, Mathematics, and the Sciences — alongside elective subjects chosen from areas such as Humanities, Local and Foreign Languages, and Technical or ICT subjects. Our teachers guide subject selection based on each learner's strengths and their intended A-Level or career direction.

UCE examinations are administered by UNEB, usually in October or November of Senior 4, with results typically released the following February or March. We run structured mock exams throughout Senior 3 and 4 to build exam readiness ahead of this.

Yes. We regularly accept transfer students partway through the O-Level cycle. We review the learner's most recent school reports and subject history to place them appropriately and support any gaps against our curriculum coverage.

We offer both Christian Religious Education and Islamic Religious Education as elective options, in line with common practice in Ugandan secondary schools, so families and learners can choose the option that fits them, or opt for a different elective entirely.
